Big Bang Members Profile

Big Bang is a famous korean boyband, consists of five members : G-Dragon, Tae Yang, Seung Ri, Dae Sung, T.O.P. Big Bang may be the most well knowned Korea group band after Tohoshinki.

Although their debut was somewhat successful, it was not until the release of "거짓말" ("Lies") that the group gained mainstream success. Big Bang have been noted for their music as well as their taste in fashion, becoming famous throughout the country in the process.

Big Bang also famous in Japan, as they are also releasing album in Japanese language. In 2008, "Big Bang" entered the Japanese market with their Japanese album "For The World" (a collection of previous Korean singles in addition to new song "How Gee"). A third Korean mini-album "Stand Up" was also released.

Big Bang is a complete team. The members of the band are all talented performers; from vocals and rap to dance and songwriting, Big Bang filled its debut album with music created by the members themselves. G.DRAGON and T.O.P wrote the lyrics of their debut single. All 5 members of the band will not take part in each song; each member of the band will choose the songs that best showcase their talents. G.DRAGON and T.O.P., who both excel in rap, will perform “We Belong Together” and the R&B ballad “A Tearful Fool” will be performed by Tae-yang, Dae-sung and Seung-ri.




2006: Debut and success
Big Bang made their debut at the YG Family concert, held on August 19th, 2006 at the Gymnastics Arena in Seoul Olympic Park. The group originally consisted of six members, but one was dropped in the ninth episode of their documentary video. Originally, two were intended to be dropped, SO-1 and Seung Ri. However, only SO-1 was dropped with Seung Ri still in the group.

Big Bang released their first single, "The First Single Album," on August 29, 2006 with the song "This Love" getting high requests among radio stations. Their second single "Big Bang is V.I.P." was released a month later on September 28, 2006. Again, it was a success. On November 22, 2006 they released their third single entitled "B I G B A N G 0 3". In December 30, 2006, Big Bang had their very first concert titled, The Real. The concert was a success, filling all 12,000+ seats. They also released a music video of their cover song from Israel "My Girl", with Tae Yang as the soloist, bringing much of the attention to him. The following month, their first album "Since 2007" was released, with a total of 110,408 copies sold.

On 2008-8-7 he opened a concert for Alicia Keys in South Korea, where he performed his 2 singles: (Prayer) and (Look only at me). Tae Yang is also known for his free style dancing ability, which has become more prominent since the band’s debut. According to Naver, Tae Yang’s next album will be a full album (not a mini) and is scheduled to be released in either August or September. It will be produced by YG Entertainment’s rising producer and 1Tym Member Teddy. Currently, Teddy is busy working on 2NE1’s album but he’ll immediately shift his full focus over to Taeyang once the work on 2NE1’s album is complete.




Seung-ri

Seungri initially joined Battle Shinhwa, a reality show aiming to find the next Shinhwa; he was rejected after the 13th episode. He later tried out for Big Bang and was successful. Seung Ri is the “little brother”, also called the “maknae”, of Big Bang. He provides dance and choreographing skills to the band’s performances. Seungri was the first member to be in a musical, starring in Sonagi. Seungri was the second member of the group to participate in solo activities, promoting his solo single “Strong Baby” which was included in the group’s second album. Seungri is also the second member to debut as an actor. He stars in the film Oorijibae Wae Watni ( “Why Did You Come To Our House”) which was released in April 2009.

Synopsis
Six students at Kirin Art High School work to achieve their dreams of becoming stars.Students at an arts and entertainment school mature as they face incidents and struggles. This movie shows singing, dancing, and acting and also shows the true side of the entertainment industry.

Plot
"Dream High" takes place at Kirin High School of Art and follows the lives of students as they aspire to become superstars.

Song Sam-Dong (Kim Soo-Hyun) lives in the country side and dreams of becoming an owner of a stock farm. He falls in love with Ko Hye-Mi (Bae Suji) at first sight and follows her to Kirin High School of Art. There he discovers his genius like musical talent.

Jin-Gook (TaecYeon) is a gifted dancer, but a troubled student at school. The director of Kirin High School of Art ((Bae Yong-Jun)) recommends to Jin-Gook to enroll at his school. There, Jin-Gook's talents blossom and he now dreams of becoming a global star.

Exchange student Kevin (Wooyoung) comes to Kirin High after receiving the top score for new applicants. He comes from abroad and shows outstanding skills as a dancer.

Ko Hye-Mi (Bae Suji) is the most popular girl at Kirin High. She carries herself as a confident girl, but inside hides a sad past. She dreamed of becoming a world renown classical vocalist, but after the collapse of her family she had no choice but to enter Kirin High School of Art. She is loved by Song Sam-Dong and Jin-Gook.

Yoon Becky (Eun Jung) looks up to Ko Hye-Mi, who appears to have everything. They soon become rivals.

Eria (Yoon Young-Ah) is a popular teen star. She enters Kirin High School of Art and becomes the object of admiration by her peers. She looks forward to having a "regular" school life.

1. "Dream High" will be co-produced by Bae Yong-Jun's KeyEast, Park Jin-Yeong JYP Entertainment, and CJ Media. Park Jin-Yeong will also act as the music director for the drama series.
2. Auditions will be held for roles in "Dream High".
